Bryan Singer has revealed an Aztec-themed set for his upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse."

The "X-Men" director shared a photo on his official Instagram account on Oct. 27, featuring him looking at the giant Anubis statue in the set of the Egyptian lair of titular supervillain Apocalypse. Singer's photo got more than 14,000 likes and more than 300 comments on the social media platform.

Apart from the actuality of Singer's concept art released in Entertainment Weekly on July 3, Anubis' enormous status also indicates Singer's desire for applying concrete effects in the film.

Known as Apocalypse's resting place, the Egyptian set is assumed to be the place where the titular supervillain will awake and rise again. Aside from giving the fans an opportunity to have a glimpse on one of the film's locales, the set also serves as the possible starting point of Apocalypse's massive destruction.

In the comics, Apocalypse saw an uninhibited alien ship, which served as the source of his unconventional technology. As per Cinema Blend, this suggests that fans will be seeing flashbacks in the early Egyptian civilization in the upcoming film.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" also stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Hugh Jackman, Nicholas Hoult, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Sophie Turner, Ben Hardy, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Tye Sheridan, Olivia Munn, Lara Condor, Rose Byrne, Josh Helman, and Oscar Isaac as the titular villain, among others.

Patrick Stewart revealed that he will not be in Singer's upcoming film; but his co-star Ian McKellen will be. Stewart is playing the role of old Charles Xavier Professor X while McKellen is playing the role of Eric Lehnscherr/ Magneto.

Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 27, 2016.
