When Cadillac announced the 2016 CTS-V, the initial opinion was that the sedan will be easily one of the best cars in the market. The car immediately gains positive reviews and is currently hailed as the leader in terms of luxury sedans, going head-to-head against the Mercedes-Benz AMG E63 S and the Audi RS 7.

This comparison between the three sedans will highlight their respective specifications in order to provide insight and help buyers in choosing the best car that will suit their taste. 

Power
Under the hood, the flagship sedan from Cadillac has a V8 supercharged 6.2-liter engine at 640 horsepower. The RS 7 packs 560 horsepower on twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter engine. The AMG E63 S has a 5.5-liter AMG V8 engine with biturbo capable of putting out 570 horsepower.

Speed
In terms of speed and acceleration, the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V scored a top speed of 200MPH with a 0-6MPH dash of 3.7secs, according to Car and Driver. The Mercedes-Benz AMG E63 S outpaced the two sedans in the 0-60MPH dash category by clocking in 3.5 seconds and second in the top speed category with 186MPH, while the Audi RS 7 clocked 3.7 seconds on the 0-6MPH dash and scores a top speed of 174MPH.

Transmission
The 2016 Cadillac CTS-V is equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The company has yet to confirm whether a model with manual gearbox will be released.

On the other hand, the Mercedes-Benz AMG E63 S has seven-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The sedan also comes in with Mode select transmission and Manual-shift auto.


Finally, the 2016 Audi RS 7 will be released with eight-speed automatic that comes with manual shift mode.

Price
Of the three mentioned sedans, the 2016 CTV-V is the most modestly priced with a starting price of $83,995, excluding gas and destination tax, according to Slash Gear. The RS7 from Audi picks a price tag of $108,900 while the AMG E63 S from Mercedes-Benz costs $101,700.
