Lionsgate has revealed its shortlist of actors for Otto Bathurst's upcoming film "Robin Hood: Origins."

As per Deadline, the studio's shortlist has trimmed down to five actors. Filming is reported to start in early 2016, which means that the actor's availability is a factor, as per Screen Rant. O'Brien will be filming "The Maze Runner: The Death Cure" in Feb. 2016 and Egerton may film Matthew Vaughn's "Kingsman" sequel, which may drop them from the list. Hoult is filming Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" at present, but it is reported to be finished by early September.

Meanwhile, Huston has recently dropped "The Crow" reboot and Reynor had a fruitful term with director Bathurst. Their empty schedules in 2016 places them as Liongates' top two options, with Reynor as the top of the list.

Bathurst is set to helm the film, with Joby Harold on board to pen the film script. Aside from the horror television series "Gothic," Bathurst is also known for the romantic comedy mini-series "NY-LON" and the biopic drama "Margot." The filmmaker is also set to helm the crime drama film "Three Seconds," which stars Luke Evans and David Oyelowo. Meanwhile, Harold wrote the screenplay for Guy Ritchie's action adventure "Knights of the Rounds Table," which stars Charlie Hunnam.

Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Davidson, Harold Tunnell, Tory Tunnell, and Basil Iwanyk are set to produce the film.

"Robin Hood: Origins" follows the titular anthropomorphic hero as he comes back from a battle in The Crusades and discovers that Sherwood Forest is rampant with evil and crime. He then creates a team of bandits to handle and give solution to the issue.

Since the project is in its early phase of development, additional cast, exact plot details, and release date have yet to be announced.
