Action star Jackie Chan has been recently promoting his film "Dragon Blade," which premiered earlier this year, for its release in American theaters on Sept. 4.
Set two millennia ago, the $65-million-budgeted epic centers on Chinese and Roman troops who joined hands to protect the ancient Silk Road.
The 61-year-old kung fu star remarked that he wants to convey the message of peace through the film.
"I tried to make this kind of movies long long time ago. If you see my older movies, even 'Rumble in the Bronx' and 'Twelve Zodiac,' it's about peace. Everything is about peace. Especially these days--Japan, China, India and America--the kinds of things have happened, so it is about time to make a movie to show the world," the iconic action star shared.
"I think everybody has a responsibility to do something for peace," he added.
"Dragon Blade," which also stars John Cusack and Adrien Brody, earned over $115 million at the Chinese box office.
The film is helmed by Daniel Lee. Its distribution in the United Stated will be handled by Lionsgate Premiere.
The action epic was also released in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Meanwhile, Chan also sent a message of delight to his fans when he said that he will not be retiring from doing action movies any time soon.
"If Stallone and Schwarzenegger can fight, I still can fight. Movies are not like UFC and boxing. We can do so many," he shared.
However, the world-renowned Hong Kong actor said that compared with his previous movie projects, he now needs "some doubles, special effects and camera angles."
Nonetheless, Chan enthused: "I think action for me is still easy."
