Good news to Apple fans, the company is hard at work in gearing for the upcoming iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus release as previous iPhones are now available with major discounts this month.

Apple will hold iPhone launching event next month so retailers and carriers are ramping up the sales of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in order to maximize the profits. Most of the new discounts in previous iPhones run for the whole month of August as a preparation for the iPhone 6S launch.

Target offers iPhone 6 models under Sprint and Verizon with $20 off discount. However, US electronics retailer Best Buy also offers on-contract Sprint and Verizon iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus for $100 less. Thus, new prices are: 16 GB iPhone 6 is priced at $99, the 64 GB is $199, and the 128 GB can be purchased for $299. The iPhone 6 Plus, on the other hand, is sold for $199 for the 16 GB variant, $299 for the 64 GB model, and 128 GB variant for just $399.

Consumers can also go directly to Sprint and Verizon to avail the same discounts offered in Best Buy. Virgin Mobile now offers the 16 GB iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus 16 GB for $100 less. Virgin Mobile previously halted selling iPhones, but the prepaid carrier is now back offering the new devices. However, other storage variants of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are not available through the carrier.

Meanwhile, US carrier T-Mobile CEO John Legere announced in a blog post that the network is offering a special promo to its consumers. Anyone who will buy the iPhone 6 this summer can swap the smartphone to the new iPhone that Apple will release in the fall.

Some of the purported features of the iPhone 6S are A9 processor, 4 GB of RAM, iOS 9 with software features such as Car Play, Apple Watch, HealthKit, and Apple Pay as well as improved Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

Moreover, the new iPhone will be available in more color options aside from the current silver, gold and space gray variants. Apple is reportedly mulling over the idea of a pink iPhone to appeal to female users.

However, Apple has not confirmed the official specs and features of the upcoming iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.
