"Pretty Little Liars" eventually brought to the fore the questions that have remained unanswered for many years. "Summer Finale" revealed its "A" game upfront, making it the most intriguing and revealing episode of the ABC Family show.
The finale episode began with the girls going after Alison (Sasha Pieterse) to the roof of Radley Sanitarium. However, when fans last left off, Alison was with Charles. The show started at the end to unveil the story of Alison and Charles.
The moment girls get at the top of the roof, "A" is already at the rooftop and almost jumping. Shocking, the girls try to stop "A" by encouraging her that the game is not over just because they know who "A" is.
The police are on the ground, and it seems like "A" is going to jump, but then the episode returns to the previous night to reveal the truth about Charles. The girls eventually go to the Carissimi Group building that has a special room for Charles, where they watch Charles meet in person with Alison at Radley.
It is revealed that Charles is CeCe Drake (Vanessa Ray). It is true because, as a young child, Charles loved cross-dressing - a move that Mr. DiLaurentis (Jim Abele) never liked.
Charles loved his little sister and one day tried soothing her when she was crying. After failing to get his mother's attention, he chose to give Alison a bath, during which Mr. DiLaurentis walked in and found Alison in the water. He forced his wife (Andrea Parker) to admit Charles to Radley.
Radley was awful, but Mrs. DiLaurentis always brought girls' clothes for Charles every time she visited. In essence, she normally bought twice of whatever she bought for Alison.
