"Waterworld" visual effects artist Bill Westenhofer has been added as cinematographer to the growing crew ensemble of Patty Jenkins' "Wonder Woman."

Westenhofer started his calling as a digital artist in Kevin Reynolds' action-adventure sci-fi film "Waterworld" in 1995, as per Variety.

The visual effects artist is also recognized for his work on Barry Sonnenfeld's action-adventure "Men in Black II," Andrew Adamson's "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe," Ang Lee's adventure-fantasy "Life of Pi," and Thor Freudenthal's adventure-fantasy film "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters."

Aside from Jenkins' "Wonder Woman," Westenhofer is also the visual effects supervisor of Duncan Jones' upcoming "Warcraft," which premieres in 2016.

Along with Westenhofer, Matt Gibson and Amber Kirsch will take charge of the visual effects of Jenkin's "Wonder Woman." As per Cinema Blend, Westenhofer's inclusion to the team is a plus for Jenkins' upcoming film, since the trend in superhero films involve the use of outstanding visual effects to engage the audience to the Cinematic Universe they are viewing.

"Wonder Woman" serves as the gateway for the rise of the "Justice League" in DC's Cinematic Universe. "Fast and Furious" actress Gal Gadot is playing the role of the titular female Justice League member while "Star Trek" actor Chris Pine is playing the role of Steve Trevor, Wonder Woman's love interest.

Jenkins is set to helm the film while Jason Fuchs is on board to pen the film screenplay, along with Richard Suckle, Charles Roven, Stephen Jones, Geoff Johns, Deborah Snyder, and Zack Snyder, producing the film.

Before Jenkins' "Wonder Woman" solo film hits theaters, the princess of Themyscira will share the big screen with Batman and Superman in Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

Jenkin's "Wonder Woman" is set to premiere in theaters on June 23, 2017 while Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is slated to hit theaters in United States on Mar. 25, 2016.
