To revisit the features and specs, the Moto X Pure Edition or Moto X Style is typically the third generation Moto X. The smartphone sports a 5.7-inch QHD LCD screen, 3GB RAM, 21-megapixel camera, 16GB/32GB/64 GB built-in memories plus a microSD port, Snapdragon 808 processor, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Operating System, front facing stereo speakers, and a 3000mAh battery with Turbo Charging. The device will as well be customizable through Moto Maker with many alternatives, including natural backs and leather.

A report from The Verge revealed that the new smartphone will be an unlocked version to support all of the key US carriers including Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile.

Customers should note that the Moto X Pure Edition will not be sold via carriers, but instead only be available at places such as Amazon, Motorola official site, and Best Buy. This is a move by the company to embrace the direct-to-customer strategy with the new smartphone to help reduce costs and ensure updates are accessible as fast as possible by avoiding intermediaries. In case Motorola succeeds through the approach, other companies might follow the same trend to unveil cheaper and better unlocked phones.
