Notorious tech leaker Evan Blass, using the Twitter handle @evleaks, recently leaked images of the upcoming BlackBerry smartphone running on the Android platform. The smartphone, codenamed Venice, was revealed to be released in November.
Blass posted three photos of the smartphone. Based on the leaked photograph, the device will sport the sliding BlackBerry QWERTY physical keyboard. The black colored device sports a curved screen right around its edges.
Blass also revealed that the BlackBerry Venice will be released on all four major network carriers in the United States.
When asked for comments about the recent leak, a BlackBerry spokesperson told CNBC, "We don't comment on rumors or speculation, but we remain committed to the BlackBerry 10 operating system, which provides security and productivity benefits that are unmatched."
The leaked photograph also reveal that the upcoming BlackBerry smartphone's display will support 16:9 aspect ratio ditching the ubiquitous square display that BlackBerry is known for, according to Tech Crunch.
BlackBerry has yet to announce the official specs of the Venice. On the other hand, rumors suggest that that smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset with a 1.8GHz six-core 64-bit processor and will sport a 5.4-inch display with 2560 x 1440 Quad HD resolution. It is also believed that the device will have 3GB of RAM.
Previous leaks also reveal that the smartphone will have a 18-megapixel rear facing main camera. The latest set of leaked photograph also show that the device's Home Screen which hold icons of popular Google apps like Maps, Calendar, Hangouts and Google Play.
