"The Mindy Project" actor Ike Barinholtz's role gets the spotlight in David Ayer's DC Comics film "Suicide Squad."


In his interview with Comic Book Movie, Barinholtz said that his character is someone people will not want to be with in their house for dinner. The actor added that he will play a disturbed person in Ayer's film.

With the actor's hint that the character is not suitable to stay at one's abode for dinner, there are two potential characters for Barinholtz to play, according to Cinema Blend. The actor could play the role of Dr. Hugo Strange, also known as Doc Strange, or Hannibal "Everyman" Bates.

First appearing in "Detective Comics #36," Professor Strange is one of Batman's adversaries. Through his brilliant but insane thinking, Doc Strange is the first to infer Batman's secret identity. He is also known for his Monster Men, a genetically engineered private army.

Meanwhile, Bates first appeared in DC's "52#17." The character is known to change his looks and duplicate another person after he eats a part of their body, such as hair and toenail clippings. He is also known to assist Natasha Irons in investigating Lex Luthor's superhuman program.

Aside from Mindy Kaling's comedy television series "The Mindy Project," Barinhotlz is also known for his roles in Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer's comedy film "Disaster Movie" and Nicholas Stoller's comedy film "Neighbors."

Along with Ayer's "Suicide Sqaud," Barinholtz is set to appear in Stoller's film sequel "Neighbor 2: Sorority Rising" and Jason Moore's comedy film "Sisters." The actor will also be part of the voice cast in Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilley's "Angry Birds" film adaptation.

Aside from Barinholtz, "Suicide Squad" also stars Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Will Smith, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Adam Beach, Adawale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Karen Fukuhara, Jay Hernandez, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Common, and Scott Eastwood, among others.
