"Switched at Birth" season 4 will see characters facing different issues. In an episode titled "Between Hope and Fear," Daphne (Katie Leclerc) and Bay (Vanessa Marano) will differ the way they handle Lily's (Rachel Shenton) pregnancy.


In the previous episode aired on Aug. 24, Monday, Lily informed Daphne that she is expectant. The episode came to an end before Lily having a chance to tell the man responsible, Toby (Lucas Grabeel) that was already going to be a father. Daphne also learned that the baby Lily was carry had been diagnosed with Down syndrome.

According to Cartermatt, an official synopsis released by ABC Family for the episode "Between Hope and Fear" indicated that Regina (Constance Marie) will leave for Atlanta to dig deeper into the whereabouts of Eric's (Terrell Tilford) wife.

Regina discovered the reason behind Eric, his wife, and their son not being together as a family. Initially, Eric had told Regina that his wife had already passed on. Apparently, Eric's wife is not only alive but also Eric kidnapped their son.

Meanwhile, the Kennish family will undergo many problems and John (D. W. Moffett) will attack Toby after the latter seeks for fiscal support for his baby. Similarly, Travis (Ryan Lane) will go to Los Angeles to see Emmett (Sean Berdy) and will discover that he has gone "Hollywood."

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, sequel creator Lizzy Weiss had something to say concerning Bay and Emmett's separation and how this will have a lasting effect on Bay in the entire season.

Weiss said, "She's not doing well. She is spending much time in bed with curtains closed and she is obsessing, and I think girls do that a lot. They obsess and run over their heads again and again and again what took place and what went wrong."

"Switched at Birth" season 4 airs on ABC Family on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET.
