"We're almost done writing. It just flowed out of us," the 25-year-old actress told New York Times before adding that a 100-page script is almost ready. The popular stand-up comedian's sister, Kim Schumer, is also reportedly involved in the script writing process.

Lawrence further told the publication that she got in touch with the 34-year-old comedian after watching "Trainwreck" when she sent her a congratulatory email. The two soon started exchanging texts and became quite close in just a couple of months.

Meanwhile, veteran actress and singer Bette Midler, who is best known for her "The Rose" has shown interest in the actresses' upcoming project.  The 69-year-old, who is a self-proclaimed fan of Lawrence, took to Twitter on Sept. 1, Tuesday, to express her desire to play their mother.

"Amy Schumer & Jennifer Lawrence are co-writing a screenplay about sisters. Hmm, who could play their mother? She'd have to be DIVINE," Midler tweeted, referring to herself as her stage presence is famously known as The Divine.

Lawrence and Amy are yet to respond on the Midler's offer. Meanwhile, both the actresses are super busy in their respective career.

While the former is promoting her final turn as Katniss Everdeen in "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2," that is arriving in theaters on Nov. 20, the latter is working on a mother-daughter comedy along with "50/50" director Jonathan Levine alongside her other stand-up specials, Cinema Blend reported.
