Apple has yet to confirm the exact date for the release of Apple TV but the company hinted that it will launch in the latter part of October.

The Apple TV also gets its own operating system called tvOS. This operating system is based on iOS found on the iPhone. The introduction of this new OS means that developers can now create contents and apps for the Apple TV using the same software framework used on OS X, iOS and watchOS, according to Mac World. Additionally, the new tvOS will not work on previous models of the Apple TV.

For content, Apple has already signed deals with various networks such as ABC, HBO, Disney, Showtime and Hulu to stream their content, according to Ars Technica. For sports lover, Apple said that it will soon offer full-season subscription for MLB, NHL and NBA.

On the gaming side, many users were concerned about the 200MB limit for apps and games. Apple clarified this and said that the 200MB limit will only cover programming code and not for the total required space of an app or game. Apple added that it will soon support third-party controllers.

The new Apple TV sports an A8 chipset which also powers the iPhone 6 and iPod Touch. It has 2GB of RAM and its Wi-Fi standard was upgraded to 802.11ac compared to the 802.11n found in previous models.
