It has been reported that "Planet of the Apes" director Rupert Wyatt has recently left the upcoming Marvel Comics film "Gambit."
In his interview with Deadline, Wyatt said that a push in the start date of the Marvel's "Gambit" has set a conflict with another project, which he did not mention. The director added that while he would not be working with "Gambit" actor Channing Tatum and the rest of the production team, he was thankful for having the chance to helm the film and he looked forward that the film would be a massive one.
Wyatt revealed that the reason for quitting his directorship for the film is its timing, which opposes rumors saying that he left the film due to differences of opinion with regard to the film script and budget, as per Cinema Blend. The publication added that Marvel's "Gambit" was scheduled to commence filming in November; however, it was moved to Mar. 2016.
Aside from the action drama sci-fi film "Planet of the Apes," Wyatt is also known for directing the crime thriller drama "The Escapist" and "The Gambler." The director is also known to work with Craig Silverstain in the war drama television series "TURN: Washington's Spies." Wyatt is also attached in the production of the thriller sci-fi television series "Echo Chamber."
"Gambit" features the origin story of the Cajun mutant. At the moment, additional cast members and exact plot details have yet to be announced. Tatum is set to play the Cajun mutant while Lea Seydoux is rumored to play Bella Donna Boudreaux.
Marvel's "Gambit" solo film is set to hit theaters in the United States on Oct. 7, 2016.
