"Longmire" season 4 ended in a suspense, leaving fans wondering whether there will be season 5 for the western-themed crime drama. Latest spoilers indicate that stars Lou Diamond and Robert Taylor have hinted at a possible new season.

Talking to Collider, Taylor who plays the title character and Diamond who plays Henry Standing Bear unveiled that "Longmire" season 4 would not wrap things up entirely. Their statement opened possibilities for the fifth season.

After being asked whether season 4 will make the end of the story, Taylor was definitive in his response. He said, "Oh, hell no! We all need a job in season 5. We're not closing anything."

The statement was echoed by Diamond who said, "There are some very dramatic developments in season 4."

He added that if season 4 wraps up something, then the manner in which a resolution is reached might blow something else apart.

Diamond asserted, "There's a lot of big stuff going on. It's very hard to talk about it without giving anything away, but there's a lot of stuff going on. All will be explained pretty quickly."

This comes after the most recent season almost turned out a flop with A&E cancelling the series, with season 3 episode finale airing in August 2014. Warner Horizon Television solicited for a new network that would show the progression of the plot - according to Craig Johnson's novel "Walt Longmire Mysteries" - and Netflix decided to take up the task, Deadline reported.

Similarly, the entertainment streaming provider premiered the 10-episode season 4 on Sept. 10 and fans had the liberty to binge-view the series immediately it was released.

There have been speculations from fans that Netflix will continue with at least one or two more seasons after season 4 since it would turn out a waste of resources to pick up the show and drop it just after one season. There are high expectations that the network will revive 'Longmire" just the same way it has done with other cable shows.

However, Netflix has not yet confirmed the development of "Longmire" season 5.
