Genndy Tartakovsky has shared his thoughts on his animated film "Hotel Transylvania 2."

Tartakovsky helmed the animated comedy film. In his interview with Science Fiction, along with Michelle Murdocca, the filmmaker said that the film's plot initially involved Dracula having a grandfather, who could be a fragment of the whole family. While the first draft had some issues on it, he and his team agreed on a central premise that had been expanded with more ideas.

For Tartakovsky, storytelling in animated films was an "organic" process, in which one has to begin from one point before going to another, which they managed to do.

Tartakovsky and Murdocca's interview gave people an insight on how a filmmaker creates a "comedy legend," as per Coming Soon. Along with his directing flair, Tartakovsky also showed in his film a piece of life, which asks audience to think about whether seeing monsters is scarier than not being able to blend in with one's friends. Also, the film changed children's perception on creatures like Dracula and Frankenstein.

"Hotel Transylvania 2" serves as the sequel to Tartakovsky's "Hotel Transyvlvania." It follows Dracula and his friends as they try to bring out the monster in his half-vampire half-human grandson to keep his daughter Mavis from leaving the titular hotel.

With Tartakovsky in the director's seat, "Pixels" actor Adam Sandler and "Louie" writer Robert Smigel are on board to pen the film script. Meanwhile, Allen Covert, Skyle Lyons, Michelle Murdocca, and ben Waisbren are set to co-produce the film.

"Hotel Transylvania 2" features the voices of Jonny Solomon, Mel Brooks, Nick Offerman, Molly Shannon, Fran Drescher, Keegan-Michael Key, David Spade, Steve Buscemi, Kevin James, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, and Sandler.

Directed by Tartakovsky, "Hotel Transylvania 2" is now showing in theaters.
