"Fifty Shades Darker" will not star Ian Somerhalder or Theo James as Jack Hyde.
In a recent interview with E! News, producer Dana Brunetti revealed that they have not cast any characters for the upcoming "Fifty Shades of Grey" sequel.
Brunetti added that they have not also chosen a casting director for the movie.
"We're nowhere near casting. We haven't gotten into anything like that. We don't even have a casting director on it yet," he said.
In recent weeks, fans speculated on the possibility of seeing "The Vampire Diaries" star Somerhalder and "Allegiant" actor James in the movie.
Multiple publications revealed that the two actors are perfect for the role because they exude an aura of manliness. The actors are also good at portraying any role that is given to them.
Meanwhile, since casting has not yet commenced for "Fifty Shades Darker," fans believe that there is still hope to see Somerhalder and James in the film.
In the past, news broke that Somerhalder's character Damon Salvatore will be killed off on "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 to give way to his new role as Jack, according to Inquisitr.
James, meanwhile, recently concluded the filming for "The Divergent Series: Allegiant," and "The Divergent Series: Ascendant" will be filmed in the next couple of months.
This also gives the actor enough time to prepare for his role if he will be cast as Jack.
As of late, Universal Pictures has not yet commented on the possibility of tapping one of the two male actors to star in the movie.
"Fifty Shades Darker" is slated to hit theaters in the United States on Feb. 10, 2017.
