iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus may be considered as a refresh from the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S Plus. However, there are a few new and unannounced features in the two latest devices that are worth the upgrade for iPhone users, such as the extra GB and possible waterproof capability.

The first feature is the upgrade to a 2GB RAM of memory for the iPhone 6S. The increase has already been confirmed by benchmarks, as well as the video below, which shows the difference between the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6, MacRumors reported.

The new iPhone's bigger memory is quite the deal. Browsing through websites and loading them is faster and more convenient with this year's iPhone 6S, as seen in the video. After opening a lot of websites, the iPhone 6 needed to refresh the websites again due to lack of memory.

This answers previous owners' wishes, as the extra GB makes the difference in terms of smoother data processing. Surprisingly, this is one of the features that Apple has not been touting too loudly for its iPhone 6S.

Apart from the iPhone 6S having double the RAM capacity of 2GB, there is another new feature that gives the iPhone 6S a boost in terms of usefulness. A new video spotted by Gizmodo shows off that that after dropping the iPhone 6S for hours in the water, it still works fine. The iPhone 6S Plus was also included in the experiment.

As per the report, the iPhone 6S was submerged for an entire hour in the water with the power on. There was no extensive damage to the unit, even for its headphones and ports. One fan had even spotted a follow-up video that was taken 48 hours after the experiment was conducted.

Here, the video creator had shown that some of the viewers' concerns, such as the Touch ID, the sound and speakers, the charging port and the headphone jack. There are, however, some minor issues with the devices. On the iPhone 6S, a diagonal line can be seen on the screen running across the screen.

Granted, the experiment is a one-time event that has not yet been repeated so far. Apple itself has not marketed the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus to be waterproofed or water-resistant, so there is no reason to conduct a similar experiment for potential risks. It does, however, give hope to users who may mistakenly drop their iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus into a water puddle or the toilet. This experiment could mean that the devices can still work without major damages or issues.
