"New Girl" season 5 lead star Zooey Deschanel is reportedly staying mum about Megan Fox's recent casting.
Just recently, executive producer Liz Meriweather confirmed that Fox will temporarily replace Deschanel on the show while she is still on maternity leave.
However, fans are waiting to hear what Deschanel has to say about Fox being part of the FOX series in a few episodes.
According to Deadline, Fox will play the role of a beautiful woman named Reagan, who will be renting out Jess' (Deschanel) flat while she is away in jury.
The pharmaceutical sales rep will reportedly capture the hearts of Nick, Schmidt and even Cece.
Meriweather confirmed that Fox will appear in season 5 episode 6.
Meanwhile, the executive producer responded to fans who claimed that they will boycott the series if Fox guest-stars.
According to her, the actress was the very first person they thought of when they wrote the script for episode 6.
"It's insane to me that such a gorgeous person can be so funny, but I guess we just all have to accept it. I've been a fan of her comedic skills since 'This Is 40,' and I'm excited to have her on the show. We had Megan in mind when we wrote this part - she's the person to come in and shake these guys up," she said.
As of late, fans are still looking forward to hearing what Deschanel has to say, especially since she is one of the executive producers of the show.
"New Girl" season 5 will premiere on FOX in January 2016.
