Set to star in Warner Bros. adaptation of "Death Note," Nat Wolff recently appeared in "Paper Towns," "The Intern" and "Ashby," in which he starred with Robert Downey and Gwyneth Paltrow's "Iron Man 2" co-star Mickey Rourke.
In a recent interview with "Today," Wolff admitted that he was terrified of doing a fight scene with Rourke in "Ashby" considering that in real life, the "Iron Man 2" actor is a retired boxer.
Days before "Ashby" hit theaters, Rourke was spotted leaving a boxing training session in Los Angeles wearing a pair of trainers, a grey hooded workout jacket and very tight shorts, according to Daily Mail.
In "Ashby," Wolff plays a high school student named Ed Wallis, who becomes friends with a CIA agent named Ashby Holt, played by Rourke. The romantic comedy written and directed by Tony McNamara also stars "Scream Queens" star Emma Roberts, "Master of Sex" actress Sarah Silverman and "Weird Loners" actor Zachary Knighton, among others.
After starring in the 2014 romantic drama "The Fault In Our Stars" opposite Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort, Wolff went on to star in "Behaving Badly" and "Grandma." Currently, he is in final negotiations to play the lead role in Warner Bros' live-action version of "Death Note."
Illustrated by Takeshi Obata and written by Tsugumi Ohba, "Death Note" is a Japanese manga series that follows a high school student named Light Yagami, who discovers a supernatural notebook that lets him kill anybody just by writing the person's name.
Wolff is set to play Light Yagami in the live-action version of "Death Note," which will be executive produced by Brian Witten and Doug Davison. It will be written by "Fantastic Four" writer Jeremy Slater and "Iron Man 3" director Shane Black is likely to helm the film, according to Variety.
