According to Business Wire, Beats President Luke Wood said in a statement, "We spent countless days, weeks, months testing for that perfect combination of form and function - small enough to travel but still big enough to feel the emotion of the music. That's what you get with Pill+."

The new Beats Pill+ is slightly bigger compared to the original Pill released in October 2012. This allows the new Pill+ to generate a bigger and fuller sound. The 2-way stereo active crossover system can create an optimized sound field ideal for a dynamic range and clarity regardless of the type of music being played. The separation of the woofer and tweeter uses the same acoustic mechanics commonly used by professional recording studios.

The new Beats Pill+ has a battery life of up to 12 hours on a single full charge. According to Wired, the new Beats speaker charges via Lightning cable. The Lightning support is sure to deliver a quicker charging time compared to the last model.

Despite its interesting specs, not all are satisfied with the new Pill+ especially when price comes into the picture. Many tech analysts claim that not much were change from the previous Pill model. Some critics pointed the fact that the Pill+ is not waterproof and does not support gesture control.
