"The Flash" season 2 will have Hawkgirl and Vandal Savage in a new trailer and Teddy Sears explains Jay Garrick's mission within the show.

Warner Bros. Television streamed a new sizzle reel trailer for "The Flash" season 2 during the New York Comic Con event. The new trailer highlighted several metahumans from Earth 2 such as Atom Smasher, Sand Demon, Doctor Light etc. that are after Barry Allen/The Flash (Grant Gustin) under orders from the villanous speedster, Zoom (Tony Todd) as he promised each of them they could go home from their world if they kill the Scarlet Speedster.

The new trailer also sees a glimpse of "Legends Of Tomorrow" characters Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee) and the immortal villain Vandal Savage (Casper Crump), ComicBook reported. The "Arrow" and "The Flash" showrunners explained before that both Hawkgirl and Vandal Savage will make their first appearances in both shows before the pilot episode of "Legends of Tomorrrow".

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim already tweeted the cover page of episode 8 of "Arrow" season 4 titled "Legends of Yesterday" which is some how connected to "Legends of Tomorrow" episode 1 and explains Vandal Savage's backstory.

Aside from the New York Comic Con trailer, "Masters of Sex" star Teddy Sears revealed another reason for Jay Garrick's appearance in the show.

Sears told KTLA 5 that Jay Garrick in season 2 has somehow lost his powers after his encounter with Zoom and plans on helping Barry Allen and the rest of Team Flash not only to stop Zoom from destroying their world, but to gain his speed back, Screenrant reported.

Jay Garrick will serve as both ally and mentor to Barry Allen as the older Flash will teach him several new abilities related to the Speed Force. As seen in the NYCC trailer that Zoom has the ability to absorb the Speed Force from other speedsters and plans on targeting Barry Allen in order to be the only "Fastest Man Alive".

The Flash airs on Tuesdays at 8pm ET on The CW Network.
