The HP Chromebook 14 borrows a lot of its looks from the EliteBook Folio 1020 G1 for a much sleeker and thin design. In turn this machine measures a mere 17.8mm thick while weighing in at 3.94 pounds, pretty spiffy for a 14-inch notebook.

Internally, the 14-inch Chromebook will be powered by a 2.16GHz Intel Celeron N2840 processor and run by Chrome OS, paired with 16GB of storage and 2GB of RAM. HP assures that users can get a nine hours and 15 minutes of battery life. The 14-inch IPS display has 1366 x 768 screen resolution, a microSD slot, one USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI connection, and a headphone jack.

It also features Google’s usual offer of 100GB free Drive storage for two years. The package also comes with 12 free Gogo in-air Internet passes for U.S. domestic flights, three free Google Play movie rentals, and 90 days free of Google Play music.

HP is also releasing a G4 version of the HP Chromebook 14 with 32GB onboard storage and with a full HD screen. It is a sole Silver model with enhanced VPN support. G4 version is also the first Chromebook to be verified for Citrix Receiver 1.8 for Chrome, which adds an extra layer of security when accessing applications and remote desktops.

Chromebook 14 G4 version is designed for small businesses and educational customers, PCWorld reported. There is also an optional extended warranty named HP Care Packs.

Chromebook 14 of HP is slated to launch in the States on Nov. 8 with a starting price of $250. The G4 version will be launched before November starting $279.
