Aside from Marvel's "Ant-Man," Reed also directed the comedy romance film "Yes Man" and "The Break-Up" and the sports comedy film "Bring It On." With the comedy genre as the common denominator of the aforementioned film, it is assumed that fans would continue to see a light toned approach in the forthcoming "Ant-Man and the Wasp."

After its release on July 17, Reed's "Ant-Man" has grossed an estimated $178.8 million locally and $275.9 million in other countries, for an estimated worldwide gross of $454.7 million. "Ant-Man" is currently the ninth highest grossing film for the year.

No screenwriter is on board yet to pen the script of the upcoming film, according to Comic Book Resources. Rudd is set to reprise his role as Ant-Man while Evangeline Lily will don the suit of the iconic character The Wasp.

Also, Ant-Man is set to be part of Captain America's team, along with Hawkeye, Falcon, and Agent 13. They will be against Iron Man's team, which reportedly includes Black Widow, War Machine, The Vision, and Black Panther. Spider-Man is also set to appear in the film; however, no information yet as to which side he is in. Meanwhile, the Wasp's inclusion in the film is yet to be revealed.

Along with Marvel's reveal on the Wasp joining Ant-Man in a film sequel, Reed's "Ant-Man" will be released on digital platforms and the Disney Movies Anywhere app on Nov. 12 and Blu-ray/DVD on Dec. 8.

Marvel's "Ant-Man and the Wasp" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on July 6, 2018 while the Russos' "Captain America: Civil War" is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
