According to Android StandardMoto G2 and Moto G3 are all set to get this update as soon as Moto X Pure Edition receives it. Hence, it seems likely that these devices will get the update before the end of this year. The upgrade is already in the soak test phase for Motorola Moto G2.

The Moto X Pure Edition will be the first one in the Motorola devices to receive the Android Marshmallow update. It will receive the update before the end of November this year.

The exact Android Marshmallow release dates for Moto G2 and Moto G3 devices are yet to be confirmed. Unfortunately enough, the Moto E series will not receive this upgrade at all.

Other Motorola devices which are confirmed to get this upgrade are Motorola Nexus 6, Motorola Moto Turbo 2014, Moto MAXX 2014, DROID Turbo, Motorola Moto X 2014, Motorola Moto X Play, and Motorola Moto X Style 3rd Gen.

It can be noted here that most of the 1st and 2nd generation Motorola devices are not present in this list. They might or might not get the Android Marshmallow upgrade in the second batch of OTA roll out.

Android Marshmallow is so far a huge hit amongst Android users. The customers seem to be pretty happy with the revamped look of the UI in their devices. The update adds new animations, icons, and features in the device.

There is also the addition of finger print scanning support, USB Type C connection support, and 4G LTE data connection support.
