Less than a month after he opened his own Instagram account, Chris Hemsworth seems to immensely enjoy it and even racked up over 300,000 followers.

The "Thor: Ragnarok" actor showcases not just his creativity but also his family-orientedness and down-to-earth nature. This was evident in the Instagram newbie's first posts.

The father of three so far garnered over 310,000 followers for his selfies with amusing captions, Entertainment Weekly reported.

The heartthrob, who shot to fame for his portrayal of Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, posted a snap of his face as his eyes darted to a reptilian neighbor making its way to his backyard. He added a flippant comment that it was "the real Jurassic Park."

The "Ghostbusters" actor also recently posted a Halloween selfie beside a creepy crawler. Apart from the post about his surroundings, Hemsworth also posted adorable photos showing himself with his son. One of these snaps shows himself working out on the treadmill while carrying his toddler.

To date, the Australian actor shows signs of eclipsing the social media popularity of younger brother Liam Hemsworth.  The "Hunger Games" actor chalked up over 205,000 followers right after opening his Instagram account in late-August.

On the other hand, Chris was able to maximize the social media platform by posting not just snaps of his family life but also his current projects, too.  One of his latest posts was the trailer of his recent film project, "In the Heart of the Sea."

Chris wrote that he had an "incredible" time filming the historical-adventure drama film, and expressed eagerness about its release in December.

The actor recalled how he had to shed pounds by adhering to a special diet to get into his character as first mate of the whaling ship Essex that was attacked by a whale, Entertainment Tonight reported.

Indeed, it appears like timing, quality photos, and celebrity status continue to gain wide appeal in leading social media sites.  One of Hollywood's busiest actors is certainly living it up.
