Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, Note 4, and Note 5 will receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system before the year ends.

 According to Australia Network News, owners of Samsung's latest devices can expect the Android 6.0 Marshmallow soon as the company stated that the latest Android OS update will some sooner than last year. Samsung is also rumored to be working on a "major update" for the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5.

On the other hand, NeuroGadget reported that Verizon will start to test its own Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Galaxy Note 4 this month.

Before consumers get excited from the possible release of Android M to Samsung devices, NeuroGadget also claimed that the South Korean company only started the testing phases and it may not be able to meet the 2015 deadline for Android M update. However, it is projected that Samsung devices will run with Android 6.0 Marshmallow by the first or second quarter of 2016.

Moreover, Samsung is set to roll out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS update as other Android-based OEM manufacturers started updating their respective devices. According to Tech Times, other Android-based OEM manufacturers are set to roll out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow to its devices. HTC announced that it will release the Android OS update to its 15 devices by the end of 2015, including the HTC One M9 and HTC One M8.

Meanwhile, Android 6.0 Marshmallow will deliver new software features to Android-based devices such as the Doze battery-saving feature, Google Now on Tap, granular app permissions, USB Type-C support, and fingerprint scanner support.
