The joint force between Mega Manectric EX and Regice has become part of the current metagame of the "Pokemon" Trading Card Game.
According to Pokebeach, Mega Manectric EX had been a solid card since the "XY Phantom Forces" expansion was released and there had been no hesitations that it had been one of the best Pokemon EX cards in the current format of the trading card game.
The 210 HP lightning type Mega Manectric EX has an attack called Turbo Bolt, which deals 110 damage for a lightning energy and another energy of any kind, and along the massive damage from this attack comes the energy acceleration to its bench. Recently, the card is being paired with Regice from the "XY Ancient Origins."
Regice is the ice type golem among the legendary trio in the Pokemon Sapphire, Ruby, and Emerald versions, along with the metal type Registeel and the rock type Regirock. In the "Pokemon" Trading Card Game, Regice has a 120 HP, which is quite bulky. It also has two attacks - Ice Beam and Resistance Blizzard.
Regice's Ice Beam does 30 damage and a chance to paralyze the opponents Pokemon with just one water energy and aniother energy of any kind. Interestingly, its second attack is what makes it stronger, among other cards in the "XY Ancient Origins" expansion.
With one water energy plus two energies, Regice's Resistance Blizzard is capable of dealing 70 damage to the opponent while preventing the effects of attacks and damage done to it by Pokemon EX then next turn. With the progressive rise of strong EX and Mega EX cards in the current format, Regice stands as one of the anti-EX cards in the metagame. However, it has three-energy retreat coast, which is a pitfall.
According to Six Prizes, Manectric EX and Regice decks are very strong against other EX decks in the format. The publication added that the deck is capable of playing around Seismitoad EX and Vileplume deck variants, due to the former's bulky stats. In addition, Manectric is also one among those who can stand on its own in the game format. Manectric and Regice decks usually include Shaymin EX and Articuno.
With the offensive and accelerative attack of Mega Manectric EX and solid EX defense of Regice, coupled with their user's strategies, their combination in a deck allows them to emerge victorious in the current format.
