After the successful unveiling of the BlackBerry Priv, the Canadian smartphone-maker announced the Blackberry Vienna.

The BlackBerry Vienna design recently leaked from Crackberry, a mock-Blackberry website and rumors about a possible release of the forthcoming device is already in progress.

The BlackBerry Vienna's design is similar to that of the Blackberry Passport and the resemblance extends to the Blackberry Priv as well. Blackberry, once a touted brand for its QWERTY keyboard, preferred by business users has seen profits drop.

The appointment of CEO John Chen is a "last-ditch" effort to bring the company to profitability. With a quick announcement of the Blackberry Vienna on the heels of the Priv release, the mobile device firm is widening its smartphone range for loyal users and tapping the market for potentially new users.

Looking at the overall design of the Blackberry Vienna, it will be longer than many of its rivals. However, this design is buttressed with a hardware keyboard appeals to Blackberry users.

According to Blackberry loyalist Kim Kardashian, they own several classic Blackberry devices because of the keyboard's appeal.

This BlackBerry Vienna release can be viewed as a more traditional BlackBerry smartphone then, as the Priv differs significantly in this respect. The BlackBerry Priv features a hidden keyboard that slides out, while the Vienna's QWERTY is built into its form factor.

There is little information available on the Blackberry Vienna, but Techno Mau suggests the newer device will have similar specs to the Blackberry Priv. Embracing the philosophy of the consumer-friendly smartphone, Blackberry Vienna will most likely see a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, OLED 5.4-inch screen, 2,560x1,440 resolution, coupled with 3GB RAM and 18 MP rear camera.
