"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 will have an upcoming episode that will be focused mostly on Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder).

In "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me," Damon bid his mom Lily (Annie Wersching) goodbye. However, it seemed like he wasn't saddened by the fact that his mother is now gone.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Damon's decision to say goodbye to Lily so harshly will have some negative consequences.

It's possible that he will be haunted by the fact that he wasn't able to leave his mom in peace.

"Furthermore, when the show returns, we won't only be getting a Damon Civil War flashback, but we'll be getting a lot of Damon just in general," an insider said.

The insider added that Damon will be part of almost all of the scenes from the upcoming episode if not all.

Meanwhile, Somerhalder spoke with Variety to dish on the upcoming episode focused on Damon.

According to the actor, the tenth episode of "The Vampire Diaries" will serve as a concept episode for the show.

"The episode was really about Damon, but that's not why I think it was best at all. The way the story was put together... every artisan from set to producers to wardrobe to everyone was just so on-point," he said.

Somerhalder added that for the most part during the episode, his character Damon was covered in dirt and gunpowder.

The filming was pretty tedious because it was done for an entire week. As a result, Somerhalder said that he lost around six pounds.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
