Game producer Yoshinori Kitase stated in his official Square Enix blog that he and Square Enix wanted to explore "Final Fantasy 7" remake in a way they could dream of and dividing the game into different parts allows them to expand the original series and turn it into an epic experience for fans and new gamers alike.

This is probably Kitase's way of trying to introduce the story of "Final Fantasy VII" to the next-generation of gamers that have not played the original FFVII game in the very first PlayStation console. He explained the importance of dividing the game into episodic parts, even though many people will not like this decision, but Kitase stated that its all part of their plan to make it interesting as going beyond the narrative and gameplay of the original game could provide something familiar and at the same time very new to them, Gamespot reported.

Square Enix first showcased the "Final Fantasy 7" Remake during the PlayStation Experience event two weeks ago as the returning characters such as Cloud Strife and Barret Wallace are featured in the gameplay trailer. "Final Fantasy 7" remake features a more action-RPG style gameplay as opposed to the turned-based style of the original and players get to control both Cloud and Barret in missions.

Other possible features for "Final Fantasy 7" remake would include new mini-games, multiplayer gameplay, virtual reality style gameplay, mobile app devices and DLC updates.

There are rumors that "Final Fantasy 7" remake might be available in Nintendo's new console, "Nintendo NX" as Cloud appeared as a playable character in "Super Smash Bros." for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, Tech Times reported. Square Enix added that aside from "Final Fantasy 7" remake other titles such as Dragon Quest XI" and "Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn" could also be included in the next-generation Nintendo console.

"Final Fantasy 7" remake is speculated to launch sometime in 2017 for the PS4 as it marks the 20th Anniversary of the beloved sequel.
