Based on the newly issued "Operation Guide on Evaluating Beijing's Policies and Regulations from Perspective of Gender Equality," the training session gathered over 150 people, including officials from local working committees for children and women in Beijing, deputies of the standing committee of Beijing Municipal People's Congress and officials from Beijing Women's Federation.

Ma Lanxia, president of the Beijing Women's Federation, briefed those who were part of the training on how Beijing has promoted the increased evaluation of gender equality over the past year, as well as made requests in order for the work to be done in several next steps.

Ma said that it is the responsibility of relevant sectors to coordinate with each other and prioritize the problems that occur in Beijing's current stage of development.

"Violations against the basic state policy of gender equality or infringements upon women's legitimate rights and interests during the implementation of new laws and regulations must be rectified in a timely manner," said Ma.

During the event, a study guide for the operation was launched to further improve the normalization and standardization of all bodies regarding organizational awareness of gender equality.

At around the same time last year, the Beijing Women's Federation held a forum that discussed the new methods and approaches for women's development. The forum was also attended by over 150 people.
