George Lucas, the creator of "Star Wars," had a different vision than what the fans will see when the latest chapter, "The Force Awakens" hits the big screen on Dec. 18. J.J. Abrams, the co-writer and director of the film, have said that Disney had a new vision for the film and it is to continue the saga.

Abrams stated in an interview that Disney has already had its own set of plans for the franchise when he went aboard. He said that "so the mandate was to start from scratch and tell a story that was the continuum."

The plan is entirely different from what Lucas had originally planned. Abrams stated that he and the other co-writer, Larry Kasdan, wanted to have "a brand new story set in a world that just like VI from V and V from IV would feel like a continuum," Slash Film reported.

Abram, gives respect to Lucas in terms of the "Star Wars" storyline. He said that he has no intention to make changes on what the original creator wants. Abrams admittedly said that he has no complete understanding of the science behind "Star Wars."

Abrams then added that when Disney wanted to have a new story in the saga, he then started asking himself several questions to arrive at the current story of the franchise. As a "Star Wars" fan himself, Abrams also said that he also wants to know what happened to the Empire, the Republic, to Han, Leia, Luke and the other characters in the story, Bustle reported.
