"Hunger Games" actor Liam Hemsworth and singer Miley Cyrus intrigued the whole world when they were seen together in Byron Bay.
The ex-lovebirds were caught celebrating New Year with a group of friends in Byron Bay Falls Festival Sunday night. They were spotted along Hemsworth's brothers and sisters-in-law, Samantha and Elsa, in a VIP area, Daily Telegraph reports.
The group stayed inside the room for a few minutes merry-making and drinking the night away. Then, they went to the open grounds at 10:40 pm, just in time for the Disclosure performance. To make sure they were kept on low-key, security staff allegedly kept eye on them.
Cyrus and Hemsworth were said to be acting as if they were romantically involved, kissing and caressing each other at the height of the celebration. They were also photos of them having dinner in a Byron restaurant.
Both stars have posted photos of the New Year happenings on their respective Instagram account, but none of them shared how close they were. According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Cyrus chose to avoid posing photos with his ex as they want to keep their get-together a private matter.
Cyrus and Hemsworth became a couple after the film, The Last Song. However, they announced their break-up five years later despite on-going rumors of engagement.
Cyrus was then linked to Patrick Schwarzenegger while Hemsworth was rumored to have a relationship with co-star Jennifer Lawrence.
In an interview with Andy Cohen, Lawrence admitted kissing Liam.
But the alleged couple expressed their closeness even after the break-up. Hemsworth told Men's Fitness that his feeling will never change as the relationship is not only a fling.
Cyrus, on the other hand, said to Elle that they are still close.
It is believed that the "Who Owns My Heart" singer celebrated with her ex-beau's family with a Wild West Theme Party.
