Contrary to recent reports, the Motorola Moto G did not receive the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS update.

According to Geek Snack, the confusion started when some tech sites, blogs and forums posted misleading reports that Motorola released the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update to Moto G, when the first and second generation of the handset just received Android 5.1 update in India. Some of the misinformed authors even reported that the software update will make the Moto G's screen bigger.

Motorola has yet to confirm the official release date of the Android 5.1.1 update for the Moto G. In fact, there are rumors claiming that no software update will be released until the launch of Android M.

On the other hand, the Moto G 2015 will be released at the end of June or within the first week of July, according to Chicago Inno. The rumored smartphone will have a 5.2-inch display with an upgraded Snapdragon 610 chipset from Qualcomm. Additionally, the Moto G 2015 will pack an 8GB internal memory.

When the second generation Moto G was launched in 2014, it comes with an upgraded camera. Tech analysts predicted that Motorola will also upgrade the camera of the Moto G 2015.

Finally, users as well as industry experts are expecting Motorola to fix one of Moto G's fallibilities - the phone's battery life. With this in mind, it will not be a surprise if Motorola will decide to integrate a much more powerful battery for its upcoming smartphone. If the company decides not to upgrade the 2015 Moto G's battery, perhaps a battery-saving software will be appropriate.
