Apple rolled out the official iOS 8.4 last week, but users already encountered bugs and issues after installing the software update.
iOS 8.4 brings forth a myriad of security fixes on various bugs and issues found in the previous version of iOS. Moreover, iOS 8.4 comes with Apple Music, which is Apple's new music on-demand subscription service and Beats 1 radio. Access to Beats 1 and iTunes Radio is free to all iOS users, but Apple Music is available for a monthly fee of $9.99 a month or $14.99 for a family account. But for now Apple is offering free three month trial subscription to test the viability of the new feature.
Below are the top five iOS 8.4 bugs and problems and how to fix them, according to GottaBeMobile.
1. Installation issues
A lot of users reported issues in Apple support communities saying they encountered during the installation of the new OS. Some cited that the device hangs and the installation is not complete. It is suggested that the user will hold Power and Home button for about 10 seconds. Once it reboots, one can complete the installation of the software.
2. Fast Depleting Battery Life
A number of complaints were posted by users complaining that the new iOS 8.4 causes the battery to drain faster than usual. According to reports, the complaints were usually from Apple Music users. According to Apple, this issue wills disappear after a few days of use.
3. Connectivity Problems
Some users experienced iOS 8.4 bugs, including connectivity problems both WiFi and Cellular. For WiFi problems, try resetting your network settings. Go to Settings>> General>> Reset Network Settings. Users can also forget the network then reconnecting it. If both methods did not work, reboot the router or modem.
For resolving Cellular issues, on the other hand, go to Cellular>> Cellular Data>> Toggle Off. Users can also turn off the LTE for a few minutes and turn it back on.
4. Slowed Performance
Some users claimed that iOS 8.4 causes performance lags. Apple users are advise to reduce animations and effect, reset settings, or restore back to factory settings.
5. App Issues
It is expected that some of the apps may not work efficiently in the new version of iOS. Users must download the latest versions of the apps on the device thru the App Store.
iOS 8.4 is reported as the final update for iOS 8 as it will be followed by iOS 9 in the fall.
