The upcoming fifth season of "Scandal" will reportedly feature Cornelius Smith Jr's character Marcus Walker in the premiere episode this fall. There are also speculations that the actor will become the newest members of the Gladiators.
According to Ecumenical News, Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) is in dire need of a new team member, especially now that it seems Huck (Guillermo Diaz) will no longer be part of the Gladiators.
In season four's finale episode, Huck turned his back on Olivia when he decided to work and help Rowan Pope (Joe Morton). However, as of late, Olivia is still unaware of what has transpired, according to TV Line.
There are rumors that Huck will no longer return as a Gladiator during the first few episodes of season 5 because he will continue to help Rowan and his Command. If this were to be true, there is a big chance that Olivia will look for Huck, but will later on decide to just hire a new Gladiator to help her out.
Meanwhile, Smith previously starred in two episodes of "Scandal" last season. However at that time, he played the role of Marcus, an activist who simply hired the services of Olivia. Now that the actor has been promoted as a series regular, it is quite possible that he will indeed be working with Olivia and Quinne (Kate Lowes).
In other news, it is still unclear what part Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) will play in Olivia's life. Last season, he gave her his blessing to be with the man of his dreams - President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn).
"Scandal" season 5 will premiere on ABC this coming September 24.
