Director David Ayer has revealed the worst part of the squad in his forthcoming DC Comics film "Suicide Squad."
In his interview with Empire Magazine (via Comic Book Movie), director Ayer said that Amanda Waller, who is played by Emmy-winner Viola Davis, was the worst among the characters in his upcoming film. The filmmaker also suggested that the concept of "bad versus evil" was far more thought-provoking that good versus bad."
According to Cinema Blend, Waller was set to stand as a daunting foe and a peril to her custodies though it was not totally surprising. The character implants explosive devices called "nanobombs" into the neck of the squad member, which can blowup should they attempt to escape or cause trouble, hence the team's name "Suicide Squad."
The Suicide Squad is a secret team of supervillains that have been captured by the United States government. The team has to execute "high-risk" mission for the government in exchange for general pardon and small bombs were implanted within them, so that they will not make an attempt to escape or do a commotion.
In her previous interview, Davis said that Waller was unremitting in her villainry. The actress added that while the character did not look dangerous superficially, she drew her power from her wit and lack of conscience.
Along with Davis, "Suicide Squad" also stars Joel Kinnaman, Common, Scott Eastwood, Jay Hernandez, Adawale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Adam Beach, Cara Delevingne, Karen Fukuhara, Jai Courtney, Will Smith, Jared Leto, and Margot Robbie, among others.
Ayer's "Suicide Squad" is set premiere in theaters on Aug. 5, 2016. Watch the official "Suicide Squad" Comic-Con trailer here:
