Android 7.0 name is still under wraps but the features are already lined-up. Despite the fact that a lot of android phones have not received the Android 6.0 update yet, the new update will include stylus support and a multi-window feature.

The multi-window mode feature was revealed in Reddit AMA by Andrew Bowers, the product director of Google. He disclosed that they have been working on several things lately for the Android 7.0, giving emphasis on the operating system's new split screen capability. Since Android users have pointed out that a multi-window feature is already present in Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the Google executive pointed out that they will be bringing an improved version of it.

Android 7.0 is also rumored to feature OpenJDK, which will substitute the Java APIs. Its existence will enable developers to make their own apps and services for the new android OS release. Great news to developers as they can now play around and come up with more compatible apps to the upcoming operating system.

Another Android 7.0's rumored feature is the stylus support. Since Google previously released a statement that they need to upgrade the primary S pen feature, Android users are waiting for the upgrade to happen with the upcoming OS release. As for the name, developers are said to be choosing between Nougat and Nectar.

Meanwhile, the recently unveiled LG G5 did not include an app drawer in its features, and while the Samsung Galaxy S7 has it, an option is provided in its settings to get rid of the feature. These details are making Google appear like it will ditch Android OS predecessors' most recognizable feature in the Android 7.0 release, Android Authority reported.

With regard to the release, no official schedule is out yet; however, since Google revealed Android 6.0 Marshmallow during the Google IO in May 2015, and if the company sticks to its tradition, the Android 7.0 may be announced during 2016 Google IO.

Android 7.0 is speculated to be included as a pre-installed feature in the Nexus series that includes Huawei Nexus 6P and the LG Nexus 5X. The upcoming Android OS is also set to improve tablet user experience.
