Apple's iPhone 7 is scheduled to release with a new design in September, but it possibly will not look like the latest concept. The new design from Sonitdac envisages an insane version of the upcoming flagship with an expanding widescreen display.

A leaked sneak peek shows the iPhone 7 at first looking normal. From the clip, the basic curvy design is the same, but the display now bends slightly around the left and right side of the gadget.

However, after pressing a button the screen suddenly expands to give a fresh widescreen view.

While it is fantastic idea, it is unlikely that this is the direction Apple is headed. At the back of the device, many exposed components and gears do not actually mesh with Cupertino's in-house aesthetics. In addition, the whole concept is flimsy.

There are rumors that Apple will ultimately shift to a flexible display like one seen in the concept below, but that will not happen until sometime in 2018, according to Tech Buffalo. Meanwhile, the Cupertino tech giant will make some minor visual changes while upgrading the internal hardware.

iPhone fans expect the upcoming smartphone to be refined and polished. In fact, the device is set to the standards of competing Samsung S7.

Among the features expected to make iPhone 7 compete with some of the best smartphones in the market is the dual-cameras. It is rumored that Apple's upcoming smartphone could feature technology from LinX. This dual-camera system is meant to make it easier and faster to autofocus. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo at KGI securities revealed the information via 9to5mac; pointing out that iPhone 7 would use a dual-camera setup with an optical zoom and 2-3x magnification.

Like latest smartphones, the upcoming iPhone 7 is expected to be waterproof. Apple had initially filed a patent for ports that eject water, but it has now filed a new patent for connections that self-heal. The patent is expected to solve major challenges of making phones waterproof.
