"New Girl" season 5 recently introduced guest star Megan Fox's character Reagan.

Prior to her joining the show, fans expressed their dismay over the showrunners' decision to include an actress who they believe wouldn't be funny.

However, Fox surprised fans and critics when she delivered effective punch lines, and made audiences laugh.

Unfortunately, Reagan will only be part of "New Girl" season 5 for a couple of episodes.

However, according to TV Line, there's hope that Fox and "New Girl" lead star Zooey Deschannel will be at the same place and at the same time in an upcoming episode.

When asked which episode this will be, an insider from the show said that Reagan is in talks to return during Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Cece's (Hannah Simone) wedding.

"I hear there's a very good chance Reagan will RSVP yes to Schmidt and Cece's wedding, which would mean she'll be back for the season finale. BTW, I too am loving the new energy Fox is bringing to the show, and will be sad to see her depart in next week's 100th episode," the publication noted.

Deschanel spoke with Entertainment Weekly to say that Jess wants to become very close to Reagan because she's a new character that she's easily drawn into.

"Jess wants to be best friends with Reagan because she actually wants to bond with her over the mutual affection for Nick," she said.

Meanwhile, there are some rumors that Jess could once again reunite with her ex-boyfriend Nick (Jake Johnson).

In an interview with the same publication, series writer and executive producer Brett Baer said that Jess and Nick's love story is far from being over.

"No, it's never totally shut with those two, which is the fun of it. We've actually had a nice time trying to write away from that and let it be its own thing and let the pot simmer down a bit, but it's exciting to think that we've got like an extra color in that box now, because bringing Fox in does create all sorts of new dynamics that we haven't played at this point," he said.
