While speaking with the publication, series creator Liz Meriweather revealed whether or not Schmidt's name will be mentioned on the day of his wedding to Cece (Hannah Simone).

According to Meriweather, she and the writers are leaning towards that direction. However, it's still possible that they will not reveal Schmidt's name, and do so when they feel it is the right time.

"Do we do it now? Do we hold it? We realize it's very difficult to do a wedding and not mention people's names," she said.

Meanwhile, "New Girl" executive producer Brett Baer talked about Jess' (Zooey Deschanel) relationship with Reagan (Megan Fox).

According to the exec, he didn't want the two women to get into each other's nerves just because Reagan kissed Nick (Jake Johnson). After all, Jess and Nick is not officially a couple.

With this, the return of Jess will see the character feeling excited to meet the new girl. However, Reagan will also be written off in the upcoming episodes, and will only return on the day of Schmidt and Cece's wedding.

"I didn't want to write a story with two women at each other's throats. So we went the other direction with it. We kept all of the drama inside Nick's head," Baer explained.

In other news, Baer also talked about the positive responses they received for casting Fox on the show.

At first, fans were unhappy with Fox's casting on "New Girl" because they feared that she won't add a different flavor to the show. Some fans were also worried that Fox could replace Jess in some way.

However, when Fox finally portrayed the role of Reagan, fans fell in love with her immediately.

"We love what her character brings to the table for the Nick-and-Jess dynamic - and for all the characters," he said.

"New Girl" season 5 airs Tuesdays on FOX.
