Samsung Galaxy S5 has started getting the Android Marshmallow update, whereas Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is now getting the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

On the other hand, users of Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are expected to get the latest Android Marshmallow for their devices very soon, according to GSM Arena. To check whether the update is available or not for the device, users can go to Settings > About Phone > System Update and see if their is any prompt to update their phone.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 users in India are happy, as they are getting the latest Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update. This patch comes packed with the March Android Security update as well, for an enhanced and safe experience. The Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update is more than 1.2 GB in size, so the users are advised to switch to a stable Wi-Fi connection before attempting to download the patch.

Regarding other devices, the Android Marshmallow update is also expected to hit the Sony Xperia Z series in this month. The update is also rolling out for HTC One M9 and HTC One M8 through the various network carriers such as AT&T, US Cellular, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon. Some devices of the HTC Desire series, such as HTC Desire 816 have already received the update.


Meanwhile, Android Marshmallow comes packed with a cleverer and more intuitive Google Now feature, according to BGR. It will be able to judge the user's habits of using the device is a more correct fashion, and will use it to make the user experience more enhanced.

The new feature of Adopted Storage will allow the device to treat the internal memory space and external SD card as a same entity in this OS update. This will save loads of space, and space management will also become very easy and efficient. 

On the other hand, Android Pay will now let the users to make online payments in a very secured manner. This feature will use a pseudo account number to make the online transactions, which will further strengthen the security of online payment.
