Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update is rolling out for Sony Xperia Z5, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z2. However, the update has not released for Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.

Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update is now rolling out for the Sony Xperia Z2 series, according to the Xperia Blog. This includes Xperia Z2 with the model number D6502 and Xperia Z2 Tablet with the model numbers SGP511, SGP512 and SGP521.

The Xperia Z3 series is also getting the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update, according to the same publication. These include Xperia Z3 Dual with the model number D6633, Xperia Z3 Compact with the model number D5833 and Xperia Z3 with the model numbers D6646 and D6653.

Some models of Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact and Xperia Z2 had already received the Android Marshmallow update in the beginning of May. The model numbers of these devices are D6603, D5803 and D5603 respectively. The build number of the firmware update was 23.5. A.0.570.

Sony has released the Android Marshmallow update to almost all the variants of the Xperia Z2 and Z3 series. However, the only exception to the rule is Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, which is waiting for its update.

Sony also released the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update for Xperia Z5 Compact, Z5 Premium and Z5. The build number was 32.1.A.1.163 and it was also subsequently released to Xperia Z3+ with model numbers E6553 and E6533. Xperia Z4 Tablet with model numbers SPG712 and SGP771 also got the update.

The Android Marshmallow update is around 900 MB and it is rolling out in a gradual manner for all the devices. Users can check their devices to see if they are prompted for an update or not. To do so, they need to go to Settings> About Device> Check for Update.

In case they are prompted to update their device then they need to connect their device to a reliable Wifi network for an interrupted download. The device also needs to be connected to a power source if the battery levels are below 50 percent.
