Samsung's next phablet may feature not only an Iris eyeprint scanner but also a battery with 4000mAh capacity as the specs continue to leak ahead of its release.

The South Korean tech company has recently registered two new trademarks for "Samsung Iris" and "Samsung Eyeprint" which are believed to have something to do with the upcoming Galaxy Note 6.

Initial reports have claimed that the new phablet will have an Iris scanner instead of the usual fingerprint sensor. Samsung has already introduced curved edge screens and it could do the same with eyeprint technology.

There is no confirmation yet on whether the Galaxy Note 6 would actually be using the new eye scanner. However, there is also a possibility that both the fingerprint and the iris scanner can co-exist together in the new phablet.

Samsung could team up with TCL and Fujitsu to have an Iris scanner present in their new phablet, Firstpost has learned. It would make unlocking the phone easier and safer for the users.

The Galaxy Note 6 could be just the first of many Android smartphones from Samsung that will feature the Iris and Eyeprint technology. In the future, it could even be the standard security measure just like how fingerprint sensors are becoming more common today.

Besides the eye scanners, the phablet is also expected to pack a 4000mAh battery for all of its needs. It is expected to help power the 5.9-inch 4K or at least 2K Super AMOLED screen.

The massive battery would also help power the Iris scanner which will need to process fast by cross checking the data and the eyeprint, Forbes reported. It would not be much of a technological leap if it will still take several seconds to register the Iris.

There are also speculations that Samsung could also launch a Galaxy Note 6 Edge variant. Their last phablet to have a curved edge screen is the Galaxy Note 4 Edge.

Recent demand and sales for the Galaxy S7 Edge might have pushed the South Korean company to make that decision. However, nothing has been confirmed yet.

Samsung is expected to reveal the Galaxy Note 6 later this year. The company will have to confirm whether the Iris scanner, eyeprint tech and the 4000mAh will be present in their next phablet.
