Johnny Depp has changed the words of a tattoo that was inked on his hand in honor of his estranged wife Amber Heard.

During a recent performance with his band Hollywood Vampires in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor debuted a new tattoo with the words "SCUM" written across the knuckles of his right hand, according to E! News.

The tattoo previously read "SLIM," Heard's nickname, which the 53-year-old got shortly after the pair tied the knot last year. He has one more tattoo dedicated to the "Magic Mike XXL" actress on his right bicep, a full-length portrait, which has also been blacked out by the actor.

Depp's new "SCUM" tattoo appears to be a reference to Heard after the 30-year-old filed for divorce from the actor in May.

This is not the first time Depp has had to cover up or alter a tattoo in the aftermath of a break-up. He famously got a "Winona Forever" tattoo while he was dating actress Winona Ryder in the 1990s, but was forced to change it to "Wino Forever" after they called it quits.

After Heard filed for divorce, she obtained a restraining order against Depp, alleging that he was emotionally and physically abusive towards her during the entirety of their relationship. However, Depp's camp has denied the accusations, saying that Heard was "attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse."

Ryder, who was in a relationship with Depp for four years, rushed to the actor's defense in an interview with TIME magazine.

"I can only speak from my own experience, which was wildly different than what is being said," she told the publication. "He was never, never that way towards me. Never abusive at all towards me. I only know him as a really good, loving, caring guy who is very, very protective of the people that he loves."
