Ichigo and his crew will be heading back to the Soul Society to celebrate Rukia's proclamation as captain in "Bleach" Chapter 686. In the previous chapter, captains lined up to welcome Rukia as part of the Gotei 13. The new captain will head division 13.
Ichigo returned to the human world after defeating Yhwach, who is deemed not yet dead. He reunited with Uryuu, Chad, and Inoue. According to Hall of Fame Magazine, Isshin will ask Ichigo to visit Soul Society, something that the latter will refuse.
Isshin will then inform Ichigo that Rukia is now captain, expecting his son to change his mind. The bait will apparently work since Ichigo will gather his team to go and congratulate Rukia in person.
With Yhwach still alive, avid fans of the manga should expect another battle between Ichigo and the former. A likely scene in the upcoming chapter will focus on Ichigo pursuing Yhwach in the future, where he will see a peaceful Soul Society. As a result, Ichigo will be motivated to bring back Yhwach to the present before killing him.
Another possible scene will focus on Ichigo leading a normal life. Similarly, Kuchiki Rukia will become the new leader for Team 13.
Mangaka Tite Kubo is currently writing the finale chapter for "Bleach," according to Chatt Sports Net. Rumors are rife that the upcoming chapter will bring a special announcement from the series creator. While it is unclear on the content of the announcement, fans are expecting a continuation of the manga.
"Bleach" avid fans have discovered that the chapters towards the finale were rushed. The creator did not establish what happened to other characters like the full power of Kurosaki Isshin and the Bankai skill of Aizen.
There are speculations that Kubo and the development team have more chapters to provide for "Bleach." The publisher may have wanted to end the series earlier than expected.
Meanwhile, it is believed that "Bleach" manga series will be getting a spinoff title since there are plans to write a story of a prequel. The story will possibly feature the early days of Soul Society, although this information is yet to be confirmed.
