The fate of "American Gothic" Season 2 remains under wraps after the last season finale titled "Whistler's Mother" ended. Showrunner Corinne Brinkerhoff made it a practice not to divulge any bit of information about what is gong to happen, but it seems she shared something that made viewers believe that they can expect more seasons with the new fan favorite mystery drama television series.
In an interview with The Wrap, Brinkerhoff said that right from the beginning, she had a plan in her mid on how she is going to execute the show. Coming off from "Jane" and "No Tomorrow,"that are both light in nature, she explained how she is able to do a mystery crime TV series. She hinted about her plans for "American Gothic" Season 2.
"Yeah, when I pitched it, it was that the first five or six seasons would be the same general idea, but each season would be a different family, different setting, different mystery," Brinkerhoff told the publication. "So it will explore similar themes and be very character-based. That's the creative ideal for all of us ... the same universe, same playground, but to completely reinvent the family and the story, which we can do over and over again."
As the TV series has been advertised as "13-part murder mystery," there will be a resolution in every end of the season. The show is patterned from the gothic show "The American Horror Story" so the audience can expect that every loose end will be wrapped before heading into a new season. Brinkerhoff made sure that she is presenting a perfect and satisfying story before she move into "American Gothic" Season 2.
In a short period, the show has gained a large number of viewers. It has collected good feedback both from the viewers and the critics. If the performance of the show will be the basis for its renewal, it looks like the show could be renewed for another season, TV Series Finale reported.
The CBS series is about a well known Boston family who discovered that its deceased patriarch (Jamey Sheridan) may be the infamous serial killer. The hunt continues as it has been suspected that his widow (Virginia Madsen) or one among his four adult children may be one of his longtime accomplice to the crimes.
