Huawei Launches Wearable Talk Band B2 (Photo : Reuters)
Huawei launched the Talk Band B2, a wearable device that can track your fitness, at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona, reports UK's IB Times. This device is the second in this series; Huawei had launched the Talk Band B1 last year, reports UK's Wired magazine.
In terms of functionality, the B2 does a lot of the things that fitness enthusiasts care about. Once you have worn it on your hand, it can tell if you are sleeping, walking, running or even cycling. Once any of these fitness activities is commenced, the device will be able to tell you for each of the specific activities done:
(a) the distance you have covered during the walking, running or cycling:
(b) the number of steps walked or run
(c) the time it has taken you to cover that distance doing the walking, running or cycling
(d) the speed at which you have done the walking, running or cycling
Huawei has added a gyroscope to the already impressing set of sensors on last years model, B1. Using these sensors the device is able to sense, gauge and track the numbers relating to the most common fitness activities people usually do.
The device also functions as a hand-free blue tooth device. You can simply detach the body of the B2 and wear it in your ear and activate the blue tooth function. Once blue tooth is activated you will be able to make hands-free calls like on all such hand-free blue tooth sets.
One of the major advantages of the B2 device is that it can be linked to two separate smart phones simultaneously. What this means is that, if you have two phones that you typically use (say one from the office and another a personal phone) you can link-up both of these phones to the B2 device simultaneously. The B2 is also compatible with both iOS and Android and Huawei offers an easy App to link the device with either of the operating systems.
In addition to the other changes Huawei has also made enhancements to the design of the device and expanded the range of colors available.
