Apple is looking to kick off 2017 on a high note, and the first on the list is the refreshed batch of iPad Pros. There will be three variants coming with the smallest one pegged to succeed the iPad Mini 4.

As mentioned in a previous post, the three iPad Pro 2 tablet dish comes no less from KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi-Kuo. According to him, the three variants would include a 9.7-inch iPad, a 10.1-inch iPad Pro and a 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2.

But a recent report from Mac Otakara offers some slight changes and this has something to do with the iPad. Instead of a 9.7-inch, the report claims that it will be a 7.9-inch variant which contradicts the previous report by Kuo.

The 7.9-inch iPad is touted to succeed the iPad Mini 4, which may also be known as the iPad Mini Pro or iPad Mini 5. Among the features it would carry include a potential A9X chip, a Smart Connector, True Tone display, four speakers and a 12 MP main iSight camera backed with True Tone flash.

With regards to the 10.1-inch iPad Pro and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2, both are likely to sport the same features above except for the main chipset. With a bigger scope, the two iPad variants will likely turn to an A10x chip plus more features. All three iPads are expected to be thinner which bring up the state of the 3.5 mm jack.

By now most have heard how the removal of the 3.5 mm jack from the iPhone 7/ 7Plus and possibly the upcoming MacBook Pro 2017 will facilitate its thin mold. But in the same report of Mac Otakara, it alleges that the 3.5 mm jacks will still be around, Mac Rumors reported.

Of the mix, it seems that the 7.9 or 9.7-inch size from the 2017 class of iPads will be up for confirmation though there could be some typographical errors in the numbers. Just the same, the new breed of iPads should be something to look forward to as Apple tries to kick off 2017 with a bang.
